Speaker: Belyne Bland-Xochihua MPH, LBSW
Topic: Understanding Hospice and Advanced Planning
Belyne Bland-Xochihua MPH, LBSW, is a 36-year Medical Social Worker. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University and a Masters degree from City University London. She is an Independent Associate and currently provides counseling services to hospice patients and hosts an internet radio program every week. Belyne also leads the Duncanville Partners-in-Care group, which meets once a month.
Belyne moved to the Dallas area from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. She was a Grief Facilitator and Coordinator of several FEMA programs with the Hurricane Katrina assistance effort in addition to working with the American Red Cross. She has worked as an Administrator of a Senior Living Facility, an Assistant Principal of a Private School, and a Social Work/Activities Director in several different Nursing Facilities.
Belyne and her husband have fostered 13 children over 4 years and she has published a book of poetry and is currently working on a non-fiction book.
