Jack Benny was famous for many things. One of his most well-known gags was that as he aged, he always claimed to be 39 years old. He celebrated his 39th birthday 41 times!
Well unlike Jack, DAPS is moving on. We are turning 40 years old this year and we plan to celebrate!
Mark your calendars and don’t miss the DAPS Parkinson’s Awareness Luncheon and birthday celebration on April 9 in the Activity Center at University Park United Methodist Church. Lunch will be catered by Blue Mesa, to be followed by birthday cake, ice cream, and fun activities with chances to win some great prizes. We will be entertained by Doc Gibbs playing and singing songs you are sure to know. And, we will be recognizing our Outstanding Volunteer, Exercise Leader, and Community Outreach Corporation. We will also recognize University Park United Methodist Church, where DAPS had its first General Membership Meeting 40 years ago in 1978.
Although our luncheon is scheduled to begin at 12:30, you might want to arrive early to view the nostalgic video of DAPS in years past. Buffet-style lunch will be available beginning at 12:15. Reservations are required by midnight, April 6. Click here to reserve your spot today!
