|Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH||Cheryl Sutterfield-Jones|
Please join us for this very special event* where Dallas Area Parkinsonism Society will award our Third annual Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Cooper has long been recognized as the leader of the international physical fitness movement and will be the keynote speaker for the event. He will share his vision that being connected to a group or class helps people accept their condition, and exercise helps their physical well-being.
The Lifetime Achievement Award, named after Dr. Cooper, is given to a worthy individual who has made significant contributions to living a healthy lifestyle through exercise, diet, and positive attitude. The first recipient was Charles Sterling, PhD, who developed the Move.Laugh.Connect. exercise program used in a number of DAPS classes.
This year, DAPS is honored to recognize Cheryl Sutterfield-Jones as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Cheryl is the President and CEO of the Frontiers of Flight Museum. She is a recognized leader in human resources and nonprofit management. Cheryl was formerly CEO of the Dallas Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and CEO of the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center where she helped victims of domestic violence. She was awarded Agency Executive of the Year by the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. She is a member of the Rotary Club, SMU Cox School of Business Advisory Board, and U.S. Selective Service Board. DAPS is honored to recognize Cheryl with the Lifetime Achievement Award and acknowledge her personal example, achievements, and contributions to the community.
